Warm fuzzies
Well I haven't managed to finish Kiri yet. I have however started something else ( surprise surprise). I decided to make the fuzzy feet out of the purple handspun I just finished. I've been wanting to make slippers ever since I read Melanie's post on felted slippers. In her post she refers to felted slippers as "hot chocolate for your feet". After the cool and damp weather we've been having I thought I could you use some "hot chocolate for your feet". Here's before and after shots of my slippers:
For some reason the last picture came real dark. The colors go from light to dark purple. I absolutely loved how these came out. It only took me two days to make these and 2 hours to felt them in washing machine. I'm sure with a normal washer it would take less time but the water that comes out of my machine isn't hot enough no matter what setting it's on so I have to run up and down the stairs with boiling water. That part was not much fun but defiantly worth the effort plus I got a nice workout running up and down the stairs. All and all this was a great pattern well written and easy to follow. This would be a great project for someone who wants to try sock knitting , you use big needles, quick to knit, and if you make a mistake it won't show because your going to felt them anyway. These would also be great holiday gifts too.
